Acer palmatum dissectum Sekimori Standards
Acer palmatum dissectum 'Sekimori', commonly known as the Sekimori Japanese Maple, is a delicate and refined deciduous tree, particularly elegant when grown as a standard. This variety is known for its finely dissected, lace-like leaves that emerge bright green in spring, remain vibrant through summer, and transition to stunning shades of yellow and gold in autumn. When grown on a standard, it typically reaches a height of 1.5 to 2 metres with a similar spread, making it a beautiful focal point in any garden.
Thriving in well-draining, fertile soil and partial shade to full sun, Acer palmatum dissectum 'Sekimori' is well-suited to various Australian climates, particularly those with cooler winters. It prefers a sheltered position, protected from strong winds and harsh afternoon sun, which can scorch its delicate foliage. Consistent watering is essential, especially during dry periods, to maintain the soil's moisture without becoming waterlogged.
Acer palmatum dissectum 'Sekimori' Standards are perfect for Australian gardeners seeking a graceful and easy-care tree. Its finely textured foliage and compact, weeping form make it ideal for garden beds, borders, and large containers.
